Infant. Red Hives On Skin. Has Eczema. On Vegan Diet, Regular Intake Of Lentils. Ways To Know About Food Allergies Without Extensive Tests?

My daughter has eczema and the it appears as it red hives are on her skin at times also. I eliminated wheat from her diet, thinking that she may have a gluten allergy, however, the problem persists. She eats a vegan diet and the only other thing that she gets regularly is lentils. Is it possible that she may have an allergy to lentils. And is there any way to know for sure without the extensive allergy panel test done. My daugher is only 13 months.

Hi,

Thank you for your query.

Though you have mentioned that your daughter has eczema and hives you have neither described them nor mentioned their location. Is this the diagnosis of the treating doctor or your belief? What investigations have been done?

In case the child has not been shown to a doctor I suggest that she be examined and investigated to know what the exact problem is. Treatment will then follow.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your daughter an early recovery.

Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

The best method to rule out allergies is by doing the battery of allergic panel test.

It detects definitely the cause and the responsible allergens in a definite way.

The other way is to make a diary of her food, toys, play, activity, products, exposure and to correlate these with her symptoms over a time.

I advise you to consult the pediatrician for treatment of the child and for the advise on allergen test.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.
