Infant. Slow Weight Gain. Breastfed. Bloodwork Showed Slightly High Liver Enzymes. History Of Being On Antibiotics. Possible Food Habits Of Mother?
I am exclusively breastfeeding. My baby will be a year old this month. She has had slow weight gain, but eats often and eats a variety of foods. On her recent bloodwork her liver enzymes were slighty high. After 2 weeks we had them rechecked and they increased more. What could be the cause? Is it something I'm eating or drinking (I have a glass of wine a few nights a week.) Could it be from a short term round of antibiotics that she was recently on?

Infant. Slow Weight Gain. Breastfed. Bloodwork Showed Slightly High Liver Enzymes. History Of Being On Antibiotics. Possible Food Habits Of Mother?
Hi, Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic. What is the level of her liver enzymes? The interpretation of liver function should be done with her clinical symptoms. Is she having jaundice? Some times anicteric hepatitis presents with elevated liver enzymes. What antibiotic she received? I advise you to consult the pediatrician for the interpretation of report and for examination and further investigations. Hope I have answered your query. Regards.
