Infant, Circumcised After Birth Has Bruises On The Penis Head. Cause?
Hi,
I have a 6 week old baby boy, who was cercumsized only a few days after birth. Since, we have had no problems with his penis or with the healing process. However, i just looked at it while changing his diaper, and noticed that it appears brused near the head of the penis. We apply vaseline to the skin on the shaft 1-2 times per day with a cutip as instructed by the dr who did the circumcision to keep the foreskin down.

Hello.
Your son got circumcision surgery by a Dr a few days after birth. Now Your son is 6 weeks old. By this time the wound might have healed well. Now you have noticed a bruise near the head of the penis, It may in the head (Glans) or at the junction of the head and shaft.
Even wiping that area by a towel or a diaper or a scab when dislodged, can cause that bruise When bathing clean that area softly by pouring water over that area. You can apply antibiotic cream on the glans or at the junction where the bruise is, by gently retracting the skin over the shaft. This is nothing to worry and it will heal automatically.

hi, no need to worry it may be due to diaper or tight fitted clothe. use loose fit cotton nappies and continue to apply vaseline gently without rubbing as directed by your doctor.
