Infant Diagnosed With Amoebiasis, Underwent Treatment, Started Pooping More Frequent. Is This Another Warning Sign?

Hi my baby is 8 mos old, he was diagnosed with amoebiasis about 10 days ago. he underwent treatment, metronidazole , 3.5ml 3x a day for 10 days, zinc drops 1 ml for 14 days for support. day 5, 6, 7 or 8 his poop is ok. its not watery anymore but still greenish and has like dark spots which is probably from banana that he s been eating. now, he started pooping more frequent not water though but greenish. is this another warning sign? is he getting any better?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Thanks for your query.
The boy seems to have responded favourably.
Green colour of stool should not be the cause of concern.
Bile that is secreted in the first part of the small intestine is actually green. As stool is digested and passed through the large intestine it changes into a darker brown color.
If stool is still green by the time it is excreted from the body, it just means that it went through the large intestine too fast to be changed to brown.
hope you feel relaxed now.
