Infant Fell Off Bed, Cut On The Corner Of Eye. What Should Be Done?
My 5 month old just fell out of bed and got a cut from the corner of his eye and around the top eyelid the bleeding has stopped i don t believe anything is broken he is only sore at the sight. how long should i wait for him to go back to sleep? He wants to butimportant not letting him he hit an unstable and then the floor instant scream . do i need to take him on in?
hi,
i would advise you to take him to the ER once. Hopefully everything will be fine but we still need to rule any possibility out. You let him go to sleep. It is not a problem. If it is just a small cut, it may or may not require suturing. Sutured wounds give nicer scares, rather than the ones which have healed on their own. He may develop some reddish spots in his eyes. That will take a long time to disappear (1-3 months). Warm compresses over his forehead and eyes will help alleviate the pain and swelling.
Hope that helps.
