Infant Has Red And Irritated Vagina. Normal?

My daughter is 3 in 2 months & I have always been able 2 see her hole (opening in vagina)
It is often red & irritated & 2nite she told me that he Nanny touches it & puts he finger inside because something is up in there.
I asked a few questions & asked he 2 show me & she actually put her finger in the opening. It is the size of a slim shaped dime. Is this normal?? I'm going to take her 2 a doctor ASAP but should u be able to clearly see the hole?

Hi,

There are many problems to be discussed with her pediatritian:

- vaginal infection (either bacterial or fungal) which is common in young girls due to their anatomical features.

- urinary tract infection

- parasitic infections, usually, the larvae of the parasites (adult parasites) can move from the anus to vagina and make your little girl put her fingers in to scratch.

- any trauma or accident your little girl has had in the genital area

I suggest to discuss all these problems with her pediatritian.

I recommend to wash her genitalia with gentle bathing balm or gentle baby shampoo; apply baby cream after bathing (or the cream that the doctor would prescribe)

Give her plenty of water; teach her not to insert her finger too deep to avoid hymen torn.

Hope it helped!
