Infant Having Continuous Cold, Sore Throat, Fever, Does Not Take Milk Properly. What Should Be Done?

Hello sir, My baby is 7 months old now. For the past 1 months he was having cold , sore throat , and fever . After some treatment he got better, but now these days he is not taking his milk properly. Although he is taking it, but in a less amount and also having cramps at night sometimes. Please suggest us what to do.

hello , As your baby is 7 month old by now weaning can be started .Weaning refers to initiation of palatable solid food along with breastfeed/formulafeed.It is often seen that post viral fever or URI small children show aversion for milk/diet ,so you can start with mashed bananas,mashed boiled potatoes with some salt for taste,Khichdi ,porridge can be given along with milk.Don't force the baby for milk,as this is very common fact post viral episode.Just make sure he is fully hydrated
