Infant Having Fever, Diarrhoea With Mucus, Vomiting, Pneumonia. Stool Sample Showed Leukocytes And Rbcs. Any Suggestions?
My 18 month old baby has been sick for a week and a half ago. She first started with having a high fever then she started having diarrhea that was all mucus . Now she is vomiting . We just spent 5 days in the hospital and her dr still doesn t know what s going on. On top of that now she has pneumonia . The stool sample showed leukocytes and rbcs. Any suggestions?

Your child is having dysentry. The blood in stool along with fever are suggestive of this.
We treat a case of dysentry with antibiotics, probiotics etc.
Infants vary in their response to medications. Is the pneumonia hospital acquired. Is she breathing fast now. Are there any retractions etc.
