Now i am gving him a Rinifol-Z from today but i want to let you know that i have alreday given this Rinifol-Z dry syrup in the month of May 2013 for 8 days so it is harmful to start again pls just remedies for this problem
Hi Thanks for your query. Your baby is having acute enteritis which is mostly viral in nature and settles in few days. Most important is to maintain hydration. You can give rinofol-z as it has probiotic and zinc . Give oral rehydration solution sip by sip after each loose stools. Give coconut water, boiled pulses water.
Monitor urine output/feeding/activity.
In case symptoms persist get him evaluated by pediatrician for proper management.
I would recommend giving him plain Rinifol separately in a dose of 5 ml twice a day, and supplement with Zinc (available as Zinconia or Zinsy) separately. This will help you because although probiotics are needed for 5-7 days, zinc must be supplied for 2 weeks to help the intestines to recover completely. In addition, give him ORS, light food, rest and get a stool test done to rule out bacterial infection. If that is also present, he may need an anti-bacterial syrup like Septran or something stronger, depending on the stool report.

Infant Having Loose Motions For Many Days. Given Rinifol-z Before. How To Cure?
Hi, Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic. Rinofol-z contains probiotic, B complex vitamins and zinc. It is given in children with diarrhea in which this help to restore the protective gut flora and to decrease the water content of stool. There is no harm in repeating the dose at present. Give sips of oral rehydration fluids such as Pedialyte to prevent and maintain the hydration of the child. Stool should be given for routine, culture and for reducing substance tests to know the cause for diarrhea. Consult the pediatrician for the examination of the child and for prescription of medication. Hope I have answered your query. Regards.
