Infant Having Vomiting In The Morning, Reduced Food Intake, Weight Loss, Sweating And Fatigue. Suggestions?
My 6 month old baby has been vomiting every morning for 3 days. He is usually a good eater but now eats about a tenth of what he usually does throughout the day. He is still breastfeeding a little more than usual and drinking water with his solid meals. He is also sweating profusely especially in the morning before I give him his solid meal. He was born full term and has had no weight or other problems. He started solids at 4 1/2 months and has been fine up until now. Obviously he has been losing weight now and is floppy and more tired than normal. Any advice would be welcomed.
It seems like your baby is doing good although he is vomiting every morning since past 3 days. If he continues to have more frequent episodes of vomiting, then it is better to get him examined by a pediatrician.
As of now, you may give him electral water to drink, so that his electrolyte balance is maintained.
Respected sir/madam,
I am highly concerned about your child's health. It is not advisable to start solid feeds before 6 months of age, Until which you should only give breast feeding. Repeated vomiting, floppiness and losing weight, may indicated some infection of either gastro intestinal tract or urinary tract infection. It is better to consult your pediatrician and start some specific treatment as soon as possible, till then give ORS and plenty of fluids orally. Thank you
