Infant Passed Green Stools, Very Frequent. Been Vaccinated. Is Something Wrong With Immune System?
my son is 4 and a half months old. he passed green stools on 24-aug-2013 and he is being treated for lose motions. right now there are no green stools but his stool seems to have greenish tinge. people say the frequency should be once a day but he passes stools atleast 6-7 times. he has not gained weight in the past 2 months.im concerned about his health and weight. plus giving him meds all the time may fizzle his immune system and the effectiveness of his vaccination.please guide.
Hi, Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic. Just green color is not an abnormality in infants as there may be color variation in the stool in infants. If it is loose, foul smelling, or with mucus and blood then it is suggestive of some infection. Give exclusive breast feeds and weight gain will be there and you can check his weight gain at regular intervals during visits. You can give multivitamin drops supplementation. Give all recommended vaccinations as per the schedule. Hope I have answered your query. Regards.
