Infant Suffering With Blocked Nose, Snores While Sleeping. Using Nasoclear Drops. How Many Times Can I Use It In A Day?
Hello doctor, my child is 5 months old, he is suffering with cold ,blocked nose , snoring while sleeping. He doesnot sleep at night.we are using Nasoclear drops before feeding. He is taking formula milk. How many times can i use these drops in a day? He is crying all the night. What i have to do to make my baby sleep at night?
If your son is having cold and blocked nose then it is better to start with a decongestant rather than nasal drops along with steam inhalation. As you mention that he is on formula feeds then ensure that the bottle hygiene is being maintained.
I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.
Infants are nasal breathers. So when nose is blocked, sleep disturbances happen.
You can use nasoclear drops even five to six times a day. Its just normal saline, so you will not have any problems. But if he has running nose too, it will add to the secretions.
If symptoms do not resolve, please do visit a pediatrician who will prescribe some antihistamine and decongestant syrups.
Are you giving the formula in feeding bottle? If so he is more prone to get middle ear infection too along with cold. In that case child will cry lots out of pain. Breast milk is best for your baby. Since you have already chosen formula, try to give it with spoon in a propped up position, avoiding bottle.
Hope my answer helps you.
