Infant With Occasional Sneezing And Cough, Breathing Difficulty And Nasal Blockage. Otrinoz Saline Prescribed. Right Medication?
Hi, my one month 10 days old baby is having occasional sneezing and cough. He is also having difficulty breathing at times (which sounds like nasal block and some congestion down in his throat and he is trying to cough it out). He doesnt have any running nose and I do not see any mucus in his nostrils. Mostly notice this condition when he wakes up from sleep. Doctor has prescribed Otrinoz Saline.could you please advice if this is the right medication ?
Yes , it is correct. At his age, there are not many medications that can be used.
Antihistamines , which would normally be prescribed to treat these symptoms, are not recommended at his age.
The normal saline would help with the congestion. You can also prop him up, this would help with the congestion and help him to breath.
If the symptoms do not improve, you can consider obtaining a humidfier . These are also used to help relieve congestive symptoms.
Saline is the best drops for babies
you can apply neosporin h eye ointment into nose twice a day
keep room temperature between 25 degree to 40 degree
you can also add syp piriton 1/4 tsf at night
