Infection After A Faulty Hip Replacement. Getting Treated For Staph Infection. Is It Contagious?
My mum had a faulty hip replacement which she had to have another hip replacement to take faulty one out then developed an infection so is on antibiotics treating infection as a staff infection in the hip is it contagious and how does someone contract it? I have a 9 year old a 2 and half year old that my mum helps me with as I have a 3 week old how do I protect kids from getting staff infection
hi,
the infection that your mum is suffering from is near the hip area not on the skin, staph infections are only contagious when on the skin and are open wounds oozing pus then due to touching of the pus some one else can get it.
i dont think your mum is contagious so let your children enjoy playing with their grandmother and risk of infection is also reduced as she is already on antibiotics.
relax and dont worry too much.
takecare.
