Injecting Blood Thinners After Hemorrhagic Stroke After Being On Birth Control Pills For Years. Second Opinion Required

I had back surgery December 11 in Muskgon. The surery went fine and I was sent home on the 14th. About a week later I started having severe headaches. The CT Can showed A hemmoraic stroke caused by being on birth control pils for over 40 years. For two weeks they have been injecting me with blood thinners to see what happens. On the 21st I have another CT Scan to see what happened. Before he does anything slse, I may want a second opion. I'm surrently staying with my parents since my brain is stil a litte scrammbled plus when I walk I get sharp pains in my head and lose balance. Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

Based on the description, you seem to be suffering from cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (clotting of blood in the brain veins). Sometime, it may turn hemorrhagic. This condition does occur more frequently in women on birth control pills.

The treatment consists of using heparin injections (blood thinners), followed by oral anticoagulants such as warfarin for about 3-6 months.

You would improve with medications.
