Hi i am jitesh I had an accident last monday in which the back portion of my left foot severly got injured.... I have goy it dressed 3 times but it has started forming pus on the wound.... I am given with antibiotics now and i want to know i it fatal for me... How much time it will take to heal and what should i do to stop pus formation... Regards
Hi Jitesh Thanks for your querry to HCM Wound over a joint usually takes time to heal. Wound infection most commonly are because of infection with Staphyloccus. However, get a culture and sensitivity of the pus done in a microbiology lab. and take the proper antibiotic, oral or local. Take rest for few days. Avoid dependent position of leg. Regular dressing is a must Try to keep the wound open as far as practicable. It is actually difficult to predict the time, it will take for healing unless the size, area involved, extent and depth of injury, severity of infection, Presence of other co morbid conditions are known.
