Injured Left Knee, Bruised Right Hip Due To Accident, Having Fever, Headaches, Eye Pain. Normal Symptoms?
I was in a motorcycle accident this afternoon, about 5 hours ago, and hurt my left knee and bruised my right hip. I started running fever about three hours ago. Is it normal to run fever after an event like this? The reason I ask is because I ve had sinus headaches and eye pain for the last 4 days, and my first thought was I had developed a sinus infection .
Hi and thanks for this query. I am so sorry to hear you had an accident.
Fever is generally not uncommon after accidents. Remember fever represents and inflammatory response to aggression irrespective of its nature. Therefore, if the extend of these injuries and the inflammation is remarkable, then it could be as a results of this.
Because you have had symptoms that could suggest sinusitis, the best thing to do is to visit a physician who will be able to tell what the exact cause of the fever is and manage adequately.
I hope you find this useful and informative. If you have more questions, please ask us and we shall gladly provide answers. I wish you good health. Dr. Ditah, MD.
