Intermittent Chest Pains While Resting. EKG Results Normal. Any Suggestions?
I am having left chest pains that come and goes. Mainly when i am setting still in the up postition. My doctor did a EKG and said my heart is fine. The pain only last a few minutes but 3 or 4 times a day. It never happens when I am active. I do get the pain when I am sleeping on my left side or just laying on the couch on my left side. Any suggestions
Depending on your risk factors for heart disease, your doctor may decide if a stress test is needed or not. If you have a low cardiovascular risk, then other possibilities of chest pain might be contemplated, such as gastrointesinal and esopphageal disorders, pulmonary causes and musculoskeletal and neurologic disorders including chest wall pain. Your pain would be considered atypical (not suggestive) for cardiac origin.
