HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
Chest pain can be related to any structure in the chest from the skin inwards.
Pain can occur due to : (1) skin conditions such as herpes zoster
(2)pain can originate from the muscles- in this case it would usually be worse with specific movement that involves using that muscle
(3)from bones such as the sternum. There is a condition called costochondrititis that can cause
severe pain in the central chest, worse on pressing the area, due to inflammation
(4)heart disease- this is usually central chest pain though it can go towards other areas of the chest. The pain normally comes on in activity and would stop when the person rests. May be associated with
shortness of breath, palpitations
(5)lung conditions such as
pneumonia,
pulmonary embolism Your pain does not typically sound like heart related pain but it is always best to rule this out with investigations such as an ECG which looks at the
heart rate and rhythm. It can also identify if there are areas not getting enough blood.
The pain may be a neuralgia (nerve related pain) or
muscle pain.
If the heart disease is ruled out, there is medication that may be helpful for you.
I hope this helps
