Intermittent Severe Pain On Moving Arm In Certain Directions. How Can I Recover From This?
Hi, when I move my arm in to certain positions a horrible pain occurs. It s my upper left arm and it seems to be deep near the bone, feels like a trapped nerve or something. I ve tried to have a look on the Internet to what it could be but other people s seem to be a little different. I ve had this before and it eventually does go away but I ve brought it to my concern this time to see what it is. Usually lasts about 3 to 4 days then won t come back again for another month or so. Can you help me please to recovery or knowledge of the situation. Thanks.

Pain occur with shoulder abduction ,flexion & rotation.
Physiotherapy and muscle strenthening exercises around shoulder and arm are helpful.
I suggest you to consult an orthopaedician nearby for a detailed examination of shoulder and arm and various clinical test to reach the diagnosis and treatment plan according to that.
Wishing you good health

Hello. I'm sorry you're having problems with your arm. Although it isn't possible to diagnose your condition without an evaluation, it sounds like you've developed an impingement syndrome in your shoulder. This condition occurs when the tendons of your rotator cuff become inflamed, which causes them to swell. This, in turn, causes pinching and pain as you move the arm in certain directions. While the rotator cuff is composed of several muscles that hold your shoulder together and allow it to move in various ways, the supraspinatus muscle and its tendon are most frequently involved in impingement syndromes. Most people who suffer from impingement syndrome have a history of overusing their upper extremities: frequent overhead reaching, weight lifting, throwing, etc.
Ice, rest, physical therapy and anti-inflammatory medications (ibuprofen, naproxen, etc.) are the mainstays of treatment for impingement syndrome. I suggest you see your doctor to confirm your diagnosis and discuss your treatment options.
Good luck!
