Internal Bruising After Tearing Superomedial Patellar Retinaculum In Knee. Healing Period?

About 8 weeks ago I partially tore the superomedial patellar retinaculum in my left knee, from a fall. Have seen doctors and physio but am wanting to know how long this can take to heal, as there is still some internal bruising and although I can bear normal weight on it , it only bends about 90degrees, (am doing excersises to try an loosen it and using hirioud cream.)
Thanks, shelley.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello Shelly ,
An 8 week old retinaculum tear should have healed by now. I would advice you both active and passive Range of motion exercises under the guidance of a physiotherapist . The discoloration over your skin should go away with time. The Important thing is intensive physiotherapy . Passive ROM exercises needs the assistance of a physiotherapist .
