Intravenous Done Causing Discomfort In Elbow Joint

I had an IV for the first time last week in the crook of my right elbow, I am no longer experiencing pain at the site of the IV but I am experiencing a lot of discomfort in my elbow joint. I am a student and this is affecting my ability to write which concerns me, is this normal? and if so for how long should I expect to experience this joint pain?

Welcome to HCM.
This type of pain sometimes occurs due to inflammation in the vein which was punctured for iv treatment. It is called throbophlebitis.
Take nsaid to subside pain and inflammation. You can apply heparin cream.
Ice application will be helpful to some extant.
Go for mild to moderate flexing and extension movement of elbow regularly.
Otherwise consult your treating doctor.
