Irregular Period, Condom Broken While Doing, Nauseous, Took Pill, Negative Pregnancy Test. Suggestion?
Hi. 2 weeks ago, when I was having sex wiith my bf, the condom broke and he dint realize and came inside me. I washed my vagina after that but didn't take any pill. Last sunday again we had sex. My periods were supposed to come on 19th. I haven't got my periods yet. I had a pill called unwanted 72 on Thursday. Still I haven't got my periods. Today I am feeling nauseous and pukish. On Thursday itself I did a pregnancy test via the kit, the result was negative. I can't have my pregnancy test done for a week now because I am at home. Please advice. I am too tensed.
Hi ! Good evening. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.
I must inform you that urine pregnancy test is never a confirmatory test for pregnancy. To confirm, either you may have to go for a serum HCG test, or an ultrasound of the pelvic organs. Also, the pills available in the market in the name of emergency pills do not give a hundred percent assurance for pregnancy not occurring. With your type of symptoms, I would give you an anti emetic drug and a proton pump inhibitor drug, followed by suggestion for you to show yourself to an obstetrician who after examination, may advise you for the tests mentioned by me above, and the reports of these tests will decide on the further course of action. Thanks and take care.
