Irregular Bleeding, Very Heavy Flow For Many Weeks. Had Taken Depo Shots For Birth Control. Side Effect?

Hi, my name is Sierra. I am 16 years old and am taking the depo shot for birth control. I have had 3 shots. My last one being just Monday. The past month or so I have been having very irregular bleeding. Also having bad cramps. The last two weeks I have been bleeding lightly and brown blood nonstop. The cramps hurt very bad but only in the pelvic region. What should I do? I'm worried since the bleeding has been going on for two weeks.

Hi
Depo is a progestrone hormone given as injections for contraception once in 12 weeks.Menstrual irregularity is a popular side effect of it.Better you should have a gyaenecology consultation soon.Prolonged use of depo can cause even osteoporosis. As you are so young it is not desirable to continue this.Hope this may help you.
Thanks
