Irregular, Heavy And Long Periods After Stopping Birth Control, Severe Pain In Lower Back, Nausea. Anything Wrong?
I just finished my period, which was irregular, the past few months since being off of birth control my periods have been rather heavy and lasted the full 7 days, this past period that just ended on Saturday only lasted 5 and was lighter than normal. Starting Friday my lower back as been hurting me so badly and I woke up this morning feeling nauceous. What could be wrong?
Hi, Restoration of the normal hormonal pattern may sometimes take a few months after cessation of oral contraceptive treatment. It is common to experience irregular cycles associated with heavy flow. If you can exclude pregnancy, the cause of the back ache could be due to cervicitis, endometritis or orthopedic or renal. You should see a specialist to locate the cause and get treated. You may need a complete physical exam, a trans-vaginal sonogram, blood counts and urinalysis. Hope you find this information useful. Wish you speedy recovery.
