Hi,
You are 23/F, unmarried, c/o
irregular periods with a cycle of around 37 days (for several years) Your LMP was on mid Feb. 2013, after that no periods
USG done - you have elaborately written the report which is fully normal, except multiple small cysts predominantly located peripherally. We call it as Poly cystic ovary.
Understand that the causative factor is if at all only little hormonal imbalance. If possible do Tyhyroid profile, along with LH And FSH (
Follicle stimulating hormone). For you I expect no major hormonal changes. Leave it as such, take healthy food, no tension you will be alright.
Treatment:
Regarding the treatment, if you are obese, reduce the weight by whatever means available
Reducing
insulin resistance by improving insulin sensitivity through medications such as metformin, and the newer thiazolidinedione will help.
Regarding medications consult gynecologist, because the dose of metformin and duration differs from Dr to Dr.
In general your problem is commonest problem for girls of this age group. Some people may say
infertility. But even if thyroid is secreted less it can be corrected very easily, So don't worry.
For getting regular periods the dr may give a
contraceptive type of tab for 3 or 4 mths.
Best wishes.
