Thank you since last thursday my right armpit has been irritated and itchy. Over the weekend it became somewhat numb and has spread to my right breast and also two rashes on right breast and on back shoulder blade with some numbness still. The rashes are itchy as well. My chirporator suggested shingles and my nerves are on edge as I dont smoke drink do drugs and havent been sexually active since 2006
hi from history it appears to be herpes zoster. antivirals are only effective if started within 48-72 hrs of start of symptoms. topical calamine lotion will help provide some relief. painkillers are added to provide relief. eruptions are not the main problem as they will heal in a few weeks. what is troublesome is pain, burning numbness or itching. so better visit a dermat who can advise accordingly and help you deal with the dreaded complication of post herpetic neuralgia. feel free to ask further regards dr amit
