Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 44 year old woman who was diagnosed with diabetes six years ago. I started medication a year ago but stopped 3 months ago when I went on a vegan, no oil diet. Due to this my HbA1C has come down to 5.6. However my GGT is still high at 56 and SGPT at 42. What does this mean and what can I do to reduce these levels naturally? Many thanks

General & Family Physician, Dr. H S Tak's Response
Hello Madam, You are diagnosed Diabetes 6 yrs ago and on regular treatment for your diabetes and now you are having HbA1C 5.6 , which is in normal limits , it means your treatment is responding well and as you described your SGOT and SGPT are 56 and 42 , which are borderline higher not too high , therefore you should not to worry by these readings of your investigations but continue your treatment as advise to you. Take care and good luck .
