Is 80% Coronary Artery Blockage A Cause For Concern?
my 81 year old mother was just told that 3 of the arteries to the heart are clogged 80-90% and the other (which has a stent- is the only one that is delivering blood and that is 80% clogged. ) she obviously is in very poor health. What are her chances of surviving a triple bypass?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. 80% block of coronary artery is of grave concern. Mortality in such cases seems to be high. Undergoing triple bypass under I'll health is certainly not advisable. It can be considered at a later stage if her health condition improves and she is physically fit for taking up the procedure. Kindly follow all the advise what has given by your treating doctor. Kindly give her moral and emotional support so as to keep her as comfortable as possible. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best. Regards, Dr.Ashakiran.S., MBBS., MD.
