Is Actalin Advisable Over Levothyroxine For Thyroid Disorder?
Hello. I was diagnoised with Thyroid Cancer in 2010. I had my Thyroid removed and have been on Levothyroxine every since. My Thyroid levels have been very up and down every since I ve been on the medication. I m anxious to try Actalin to see if I can level out and feel normal and stop losing my hair etc.... May you please advise if this is a wise choice over taking the Levothyroxine? Thank You
Actalin is not advisable over Levothyroxine for thyroid disorder.
Actalin is a nutritional supplement which contains a blend of 17 different nutrients like Iodine, L-Tyrosine, Ashwagandha root extract, and other vitamins and minerals. It is claimed to be safe and effective to support the normal thyroid functions however such claims are not proved on any clinical trials hence FDA has not approved it for the treatment of hypothyroidism.
It is not going to benefit your thyroid in any way.
To ensure you are getting the right dose of Levothyroxine, please make sure your thyroid function tests are within their normal ranges. This includes a TSH and a free T4
I would rather advise you to consult your endocrinologist and let him help you with the safest way out.
Best regards.
