General & Family Physician, Dr. Nureini's Response
Hi dear,
Thanks for choosing Health care magic.
I believe Levothyroxine is fairly enough to treat hypothyroidism there is no need to take an additional supplement with it.
There are no real proof of the efficiency of Actalin in treating hypothyroidism therefore many doctors do not encourage taking it.
Here is my suggestion.
If your hypothyroidism is not responding to the medication pay another visit to your doctor to and ask if it's possible increase in your dosage. However if you see the medication is working well for your hypothyroidism then there is no need to take another supplement such as Actalin.
Finally, There is no evidence of drug interaction between Actalin and Levothyroxine so it's safe to take both medicines together, but its better if you take the two medicines at different times.
Hope this helped.
if you have more questions don't hesitate to ask ..
Wish you all the best
