Is Adipex-P Effective In The Treatment Of Chronic Fatigue?

I have been given Adipex-P by my PCP for weight loss.
Some history, I have high BP and my BMI is in the low 40's.
I'm about to start my 3rd month and am down 20 lbs. Unfortunately, my PCP recently left the area and I will need to start with a new Dr. during this treatment. So, my question is this, has this drug ever been used long-term to treat chronic fatigue? I also have Lupus and some fibromyalgia symptoms. I've noticed that while taking this drug, I don't have the jittery or hyper feeling described by many as a side effect, but more I just feel normal. As in, less fatigue and able to get through my work day without needing to collapse when I get home. I have energy for my 7 year old and to fix dinner & clean my house after work.
I feel like I did before I got sick. It just seems that if this drug could be this beneficial to people with fatigue, it could be used more. Is it unsafe for long-term?
Thank you for your consideration

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Thanks for your query on HCM

"As"per your clinical history is concerned adipex-P is not for chronic fatigue syndrome but you can take it to reduce weight and it is safe. For chronic fatigue syndrome follow like this -

1)Discuss with your treating Doctor about low dose antidepressants for pain and sleep and a Psychological counseling.

2)Do consult with your physiotherapist for specific exercise plan.

Do follow few lifestyle modifications like this -

1)Try to reduce stress. Develop a plan to avoid or limit overexertion and emotional stress. Allow yourself time each day to relax.

2)Try to improve sleep habits. Go to bed and get up at the same time each day. Limit daytime napping and avoid caffeine, alcohol and nicotine.

Hope that helps
