Is Alivher Through Vagina Safe To Be Taken During Pregnancy?
hiii.i am 32 weeks pregnant,i had done my ultrasound this week which shown my baby AC is lagging 2 weeks,everthing else is fine,My doctor prescribed me with Alamin Rx,amino fit and Alivher 25mg through vagina,is this dosage ok to be taken .is alivher through vagina safe ,i have a doubt.plz help me

Yes, it is safe to be taken during pregnancy. Aliveher (Sildenafil) is basically used in the treatment of erectile dysfunction as it improves the blood flow in the smooth muscles of the penis. It also fund to improve uteroplacental blood flow and perfusion by dilating the blood vessels thus increasing blood flow to the baby, and hence used in the treatment of oligohydramnios (decreased amniotic fluid levels).
It is FDA pregnancy category B drug which means animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. The prescribed dose is adequate continue to take it. It has no harmful effects on the unborn baby.
You need to have regular doppler ultrasound to assess the blood flow, and rule out any renal anomaly in the unborn baby preferably by a fetal medicine specialist. You should continue taking 4-5 litres of fluids, high protein diet and adequate rest, as these are known to increase the amniotic fluid levels sufficiently.
