Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a cold/flue thing and I have asthma so .i regularly take Breo. Last night I took generic for Zirtac, this morning I took Allegra that didn t help so later I took Momtelukast and and a nose spray. I got very sleepy and the allergy/cold symptoms are still there. So I want to know if I can take Alkasetzer Plus cold and flue. Thank you.
Usually common cold takes time to recover. Alka-seltzer may cause raised blood pressure and palpitations and associated side effects. if necessary you may take it. If your hypertensive avoid it.
Avoid cool drinks and freeze water avoid smoking and caffeine drinks. Use water vapor inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved please consult your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu,
