My 4 year old son weighing 17.2 kg suffering from cough and fever since 1st Oct evening. He was given asthalin inhaler sos. Fever kept coming and going. Finally was given Clavam Bid on 4th oct evening. FEver subsided but dry coughing has increased severally. Please advise. Can we give Ambrolite for cough and continue with Clavam bid too?
Hi, If i were your treating doctor then i would advice 1) Ambrolite can be used, as it help to dissolve mucous and get it out from lungs, in children it should be used with precaution. consult with your physician. 2) Regarding antibiotics, as you have completed the full course, it is not necessary now. 3) maintain adequate hygiene, use pure boiled water which is lukewarm for drinking. 4) This kind of infections is common in children, so do not panic, as it will be relieved by medications. Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help
