Is Amlodipine Safe And Effective In The Treatment Of Hypertension?

I am 84 yrs. Old and have been on 20mgs of benicar which i tolerate well for past 4 yrs. Pressure always ws 120/70,now my pressure has gone high in the a.m on awaking. The benicar brings it down to 137/65 by 10 a.m. my doc prescribed amlodipine 2.5 mgs but i am hesitant about that as i would not be taking any benicar and it says it may cause dizziness and i don t want to take the chance of falling at my age? Whats your feelings on this?

Don't worry, amilodipine is safe and has nothing to do with other medication you are taking,,take it and see your blood pressure over a week how its going..
