Is Anesthesia Advisable For Lipoma On The Forehead During Pregnancy?
Hello, I ve had a small lipoma on my forehead for two years now and I finally decided to remove it, and scheduled and appointment, but I just found out I m 6 weeks pregnant and I was wondering if the anestesia will affect the fetus if I do get it removed. Thanks
Anesthetic medications go in fetal circulation and in first trimester can cause birth defects they are not safe but only in extreme cases you can use. I suggest you to consult with your doctor the possibility to follow up your lipoma and after birth to remove it.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Blerina Pasho, General & Family Physician
