General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear,
Understand your concern.
GGT is live enzyme, increased in alcohol addict/after chronic excessive alcohol consumption.
It will come to normal after 6-9 week after stopping alcohol.

Please note the contraindication of antabuse therapy:

Consumed alcohol in the last 24hrs
Recent MI, angina, cardiac failure and uncontrolled hypertension
History of CVA
Severe personality disorder
Severely deranged LFT
– GGT>3X normal reference limit (f=120U/L, m=180U/L)
- Bilirubin>30µmol/l
- ALT >150U/L
Suicide risk
Known hypersensitivity

So I think you should take antabuse, as your GGT is 247.
Dose:
200mg once daily or 400mg on alternate days this should be supervised by a nominated person on these occasions.

Hope this may help you.
Best regards
Dr. Sagar
