Is Asthalin Puff Advisable To Treat Dry Cough And Runny Nose?
My daughter is 25 months. last week she had runny nose. This week she has dry cough and no other symptom. the cough happens through the day and very little during night. She also vomits with the cough. does she need asthalin puff in this case, when the cough is dry. She was asked to take asthalin puff on SOS basis (on wheeezing). How do I understand if she is wheezing?
Understanding your concern. As per your query your daughter have symptoms of dry cough and runny nose which seems to be due to upper respiratory infection due to poor immunity of your body.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to avoid use of spicy, sharp oily and fried food substances. Apply mist humidifiers in room. You should take combination of antibiotic Levofloxacin along with antihistamine such as Levocetirizine. Prescribed medication is right, wheezing you can hear from sound of chest and take very mild dose of inhaler. You should take cough expectorants. You should visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should get chest x-ray done along with pulmonary function tests done so as to detect level of infection and treatment can be started accordingly. You should avoid cold carbonated beverages.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
