Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am suffering from skin itching n rashes for past three weeks all over my body. I have three and half month old baby for whom i am breastfeeding . This itching does not stop it is continuous. Can i take avil 25 tablet.? I am at present using patanjali products for skin related problems. The itching stops when i take a bath of neem leaves water . But it starts to itch again before i go to bed. is there any remedy? What could be the reason for this problem? Now I am scared that my baby might get the problem as I can see slight boil like above her lips. Plz help i am depressed....
Occasion doses of avil may be safe during breastfeeding. If taken in larger doses or more prolonged use may cause side effects in the infant or decrease the milk supply. Single bedtime doses after the last feeding of the day may be adequate for many women and will minimize any effects of the drug. However, non-sedating antihistamines such as cetirizine or loratadine may be taken at night or during day time. You need to consult your doctor to find out the cause of itching like scabies, lice, bed bugs, allergic reaction, or other types of dermatitis.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
