Is Azitromicina Along With Diclofenac Advisable For Swelling In Hands And Feet?

Hi. I am in my 5th week of suffering with reactive arthritis. I am taking 50 mg of diclofenac daily which helps slightly with the pain but not with the swollen hands and feet. Is there any other treatment I could try and is it OK to take azitromicina with diclofenac. How long does this hideous pain last for? Any advice hugely appreciated.

Hello,

Azithromycin is an antibiotic which is used to treat a bacterial infection. It is not commonly recommended to treat reactive arthritis. Diclofenac is an anti inflammatory medication which may help in relieving the pain. Hence, as per your first question I don't recommend taking Azithromycin for reactive arthritis. As per your second question reactive arthritis is not completely treatable but can be maintain under control through medications.
