Hi,
Azurette, that has
Ethinyl estradiol and
desogestrel usually helps in women with
PCOS by regulating
hormonal levels and regularizing cycles. It is known to be effective for PCOS.
However, when there is a delay in taking the pills or if the packed schedule is disturbed, it may lead to hormonal imbalance causing disturbed cycles, early or late period, short or long period, intermittent bleeding, spotting, etc.
This hormonal imbalance may take a couple of months to settle down. When 6 pills are taken from the new pack of birth control, the period usually stops soon.
It may take 1-2 weeks sometimes. If a similar patient comes to my clinic, I would educate the same and recommend waiting and watching for the period to stop.
If the period lasts for more than 2 weeks, consulting the treating
OBGYN may be a good idea.
In the meanwhile, including more iron-rich foods such as pomegranate, beetroot, carrot, iron-fortified cereals, green leafy vegetables, etc. may help in compensating excessive blood loss.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
