Is Benadryl Effective In Treating Rashes On The Scalp?

I had an allergic reaction to welding dust a few years ago. I recently used the earplugs that had been specially designed for me. Yes, they had been washed, but apparently some residue was on them yet, as I now have broke out in welts over the right side of my scalp & is now traveling on to the down the right side of my face. Is benadryl enough? What can I do over-the-counter, as I do not have insurance?

Benadryl can provide symptomatic relief only.

The underlying causes has to be identified and treated.

Consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.

We have to rule out possible causes like seborrhoea and dermatitis.
