Is Benadryl Safe For A Person With Upper Respiratory Tract Infection?
How dangerous is Benedryl for some one who has a sinus type uri and is a AB pt. and less the one year post ablation procedure. Knows he cannot take any OTC and has been told no ASA, Tylenol, or Ibuep. has head ache, congestion, and low grade fever. What else is left? Bill Gallagher RN

Benadryl contain Diphenhydramine as an active content. It is not safe patient with cardiac illnesses especially post abalation.
You can take expectorant cough syrups available as over the counter.
Also try steam inhalation and saline irrigation.
