Is Betamethasone Safe To Be Used For Vitiligo?

I have had vitiligo 25 years ago on face near the year and few spot on neck at that time dermatologist gave me soraline along with sun exposure and that worked very well. Now after 25 years I have white pinkish spot about half centimetre on the year and dermatologist reckon it may be vitiligo but soraline is band due to its cancer effect. He just gave me to apply betamethazone cream but no effect of medicine so for. Do you think I have vitiligo if so do I need soraline or some thing else. Thanks Syd
