Is Betnesol Injection Safe To Take At 35 Weeks?

Hello doctor,I am in my 35week 5 days of my pregnancy.i felt less baby movements for the last two days and my fluid level is found to be 186 mm which my doctor found to be on a little higher end.Also,NST was done and baby heart rate and movements are found to be normal.Still,my doctor suggested Betnosol 8ml injection for two days with 24hrs gap.is it safe?i have already taken one.does it induce any preterm pains? Thanks in advance.

Hi, Thanks for writing HCM..
How many movements do you experience? Check movements Thrice daily for 1 hr after meals, minimum of 3 movements with a total of atleast 10 movements in a day is considered to be normal. Your AFI is on the higher side.. Are you diabetic? If not get a glucose challenge test done. Value greater than 140 indicates gestational diabetes and may require treatment. Since you were experiencing less movements and AFI on higher side, it would be better to take betnesol inj as said by your dc as it helps for early fetal lung maturity in case delivery occurs earlier. Not much problems is seen associated with it.. Is a scan done? How's ur baby's growth? Take adequate rest and eat healthy. Hope i have answered your queries.. Feel free to ask any doubts.. Good day.
