Is CIPLAR-LA 40 Proper Medication For Thyroid Problem?
Good morning sir,
This is PARVEZ AHMAD (age 27Y/M) from India. Sir actually the thing is that my thyroid report says a decreased level of TSH and and an increased level of FT4 i. e. THYROTOXICOSIS. Therefore my doctor has recommended me to take daily one tab of CIPLAR-LA 40.
So i wanted to know that how good is this tablet for me and what precautions should be taken. Also kindly tell me that how much time i'll be on medicine.

I have gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.
Your TSH is low with high free T4. It suggest hyperthyroidism. You should take anti thyroid drugs like propylthiouracil or methimazole. These is prescription based medicine so consult your doctor and take treatment accordingly.
Your Ciplar LA 40 contains propranolol. It is used to control hypertension. You may have hypertension due to thyrotoxicosis. But it may be useful but as such it is not anti thyroid drug.
