Is CT Scan Allowed While Getting Dendritic Cell Vaccination?

My wife was non responsive to the Taxol, and the breast cancer came back (her-2) positive after 8 rounds of chemo and 9 months of herceptin. Also, the c. also showed up in her liver after the 9 months of herceptin. My wife just had the dendritic cell vaccine two weeks ago. They advised no chemo or any other supplements for three weeks, so that the vaccine can work effectively. Then she is to take the xelota (chemo)) drug for two weeks on and one week off for 6 months. The Dr. wants to do a CT scan, but we are concerned that the radiation may affect the strength of the vaccine. Do you think we need to wait another month before more radiation from another scan?

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hello,

The best person who knows better this is her oncologist. If he or she recommends to do a CT scan than no worries she should do it. It is for her best performance of chemo. Please believe in her doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jolanda Nikolla, Pulmonologist
