Is Carbimazole Effective For Hyperthyroidism?
Hi I have been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and weigh 9 stone 5 6, ex smoker (8 months) and 48, my fitness is ok, I power walk everywhere. I am about to take 20mg carbimazole but after reading up on everything i m worried i ll gain a lot of weight even though i m a very active person.

When you use Carbimazole your body starts making less thyroid hormone than it was before.
Some weight gain from treatment is usually fine, especially if you lost a lot of weight before treatment.
If the weight gain is intolerable to you, you can find a new treatment.
