General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read about your concern.
Carbimazole is used to treat thyrotoxicosis associated with hyperthyroidism.
Side effects like rashes, pruritis, bone marrow supression have been reported with Carbimazole.

But weight gain ,which is your concern , is an unheard side effect with this medication.

So, in my opinion ,relax and go ahead with the medicine in the dose
prescribed .

Hope this helps.
Regards,
Dr.Pallavi Jain
